Site Supervisor

Broadview Homes is a single-family business unit of Qualico and we are seeking a Site Supervisor to join our team.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Site Supervisor contributes to the success of Qualico by providing site management exclusively to Broadview Homes. The Site Supervisor is accountable to ensure that the construction of homes are built to budgeted costs, quality standards and set possession dates. The successful candidate will perform day-to-day site administration of managing homes, construction schedules, supervising Trade Partners, reviewing quality of work and ensuring that the jobsites are being presented in a proper manner.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrating Broadview Homes Values, as a representative on the jobsites, ensuring the company’s reputation is maintained in a positive manner.
  • Attending scheduled Site Supervisor training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Ensuring the construction processes and systems are optimized in delivering a product that meets or exceeds the customers’ expectations and business results.
  • Completing weekly Hazard Assessments and reporting any safety concerns immediately.
  • Visiting homes under construction and updating Build Pro schedules daily.
  • Inspecting each completed home prior to customer walk-through and ensuring that the home is complete and meets the company standards of quality and cleanliness.
  • Using Broadview Homes construction standards, to ensure file review at job start, home start meetings with customers, frame checks, rough-in meeting with customers, possession date objectives, pre-occupancy inspection process, deficiency free possession and post possession customer follow-up.
  • Assisting the Construction Manager with site related duties as requested.

Education & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with a homebuilder in a supervisory position.
  • Knowledge of Alberta Building Codes and Alberta 9.36 Energy Codes.
  • Understanding of the OH&S Legislation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Basic computer and iPad skills.
  • Accredited PHBI courses will be considered an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence, current driver’s abstract and access to the use of a personal vehicle.
  • It is Qualico practice to request a criminal record check prior to finalizing the appointment of successful candidates.

Assistant Site Supervisor

Broadview Homes is a single-family business unit of Qualico and we are seeking an Assistant Site Supervisor to join our team.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Assistant Site Supervisor contributes to the success of Qualico by providing site supervision exclusively to Broadview Homes. The Assistant Site Supervisor is accountable to ensure the appearance of the job site is presentable and ready for our Trade Partners. The successful candidate will assist the Site Supervisor in day-to-day site administration of preparing homes, supervising trades, reviewing quality of work and ensuring that the jobsites are being presented in a proper manner.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrating Broadview Homes Values, as a representative on the jobsites, ensuring the company’s reputation is maintained in a positive manner.
  • Attending scheduled Assistant Site Supervisor training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Ensuring our Trade Partners are working in a safe environment and according to the Qualico Site Safety Standards and Policies.
  • Completing weekly Hazard Assessments and reporting any safety concerns immediately.
  • Ensuring that our Trade Partners have safe and clean access to homes at all times.
  • Performing Pre-Occupancy tune-ups and frame checks.
  • Following up on deficiency lists with Site Supervisor and Trade Partners.
  • Inspecting each completed home prior to customer walk-through and to ensure that the home is complete and meets the company standards of quality and cleanliness.
  • Assisting the Site Supervisor and Construction Manager with other site duties as requested.

Education & Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with a homebuilder.
  • Accredited PHBI courses are an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence, current driver’s abstract and access to the use of a personal vehicle.

Working Conditions:

This position works primarily on job sites throughout Calgary and surrounding communities in all weather conditions.

Senior Residential Designer/Draftsperson

We have an opening for a Senior designer/draftsperson. We are looking for a results oriented person who can tackle new challenges with a smile while juggling a full plate of regular responsibilities.

You will be responsible for maintaining standard plans, while coordinating architectural approval applications & moving plans through the stages of production. You’ll be actively involved in new product development and design as well as making our existing product better.

So far so good? Here are the specifics:

•Complete daily production tasks with deadlines in mind
•Handle customer jobs from start to finish, including custom plan changes
•Help us keep our plans updated and accurate
•Work with our Design team to create new plans and enhance existing designs
•Plan review and onsite problem-solving of construction issues as they happen
•Get out of the office for showhome tours & market research
•Create customer documentation as needed
•Liaise with city/town in regards to code & bylaw questions
•Develop & maintain relationships with suppliers
•Keep up with code changes & attend industry seminars and info sessions


Here’s what we’re looking for:

•Diploma in Architectural Technologies or similar
•6-8 years of experience in the home building industry
•It’s pretty important that you’re good with AutoCAD!
•Have you worked with custom homes before? Tell us about it!
•Knowledge of structural and mechanical requirements in a home
•You know your way around the Building Code
•Ability to work by yourself and in a group
•You care a lot about the final product, but can do it all within a great timeframe
